looking back

Seems like yesterday, seems like a lifetime.  So many adventures, good times, challenging times.

Since it was our anniversary yesterday, I played with my camera a little & took some fun pictures with our rings.  Here are a few of my faves:

Happy anniversary to my hubby. 14 years - Yay us!

the soccer mom, reviewing today's highlights

In the 8 years that Karl has been coaching soccer, he has only missed one other game that I can remember.  He had to go out of town this week & I know he was bummed that he couldn't be there today.  It was an exciting game.  We were playing short with only 9 players, they had a full team w/ subs.  There were times that it looked like it was our game to win, & there were other times that the other team pulled ahead.  With 30 seconds left in the game we were tied 3-3.  And then the other team managed to get one more ball in the net.  Despite today's loss, the girls did an amazing job.

Goooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaal!

I am so proud of all you girls!  Thank you Coach Ricardo for keeping the girls motivated & thank you Coach Laurie for subbing in for Karl today.

missing Stars Hollow

I completed this layout for the challenge blog These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things.  The challenge was to create a layout of a favorite TV show.  It was hard to pick one.  Lost, Ugly Betty, Friends, My Boys are some of my favorites.  But I ended up choosing Gilmore Girls.  I adore all the characters - Luke, Rory, Sookie, Michel . . .  I love Lorelei's sassy personality & her knack for words.

For this project I busted out my sewing machine & used it on the denim patches, the leaves, pictures & as a border.  I embossed the tree & the leaves, added some buttons & Thickers.

I had a lot of fun putting this together.  I miss visiting Stars Hollow on Tuesday nights.  I may have to pull out the DVDs for a quick visit.

celebrating & scrapping

Recently my friend, TJ, celebrated a birthday, (woo hoo, happy birthday TJ!) and hosted a birthday crop.  This girl is smart & funny & knows how to throw a party.
We scrapped & laughed & took lots of pictures & laughed some more.  Tricia, from Cannon, was there.  So glad to finally get to meet her.  Here are a couple projects from the day.

I love the rolled flowers, the hand felted letters & the celebration banner.  These colors are so happy.
Val prepared these cute easter cards as make & takes for everyone.  I could tell she put so much prep work into these.

It was just a lovely day.  Here's to you TJ

late!

I meant to post this earlier in the week, always something to get sidetracked with.  Anyway, here is my project for The Red Bee:

The challenge was to incorporate yarn in the layout. I used yarn in 3 different areas, but I really wanted the yarn to standout a little more.  So, I added more yarn here:

Here is the end result:
I like how the yarn softened up the branches.  I used The Boyfriend line from one of my favorite manufacturers, Cosmo Cricket.  Their products are so much fun to play with.
